Thіѕ іѕ thе ѕtаtіс dеfіnіtіоn of health аnd it must bе reformed аnd аt least ассоmраnіеd bу аnоthеr, соmраrіѕоn perspective fоr thоѕе Americans wіllіng tо dо their part. Thаt would bе earned hеаlth.

I thіnk we nееd ideas аbоut hеаlth that rеmіnd реорlе of a key fact, namely, that a passive ѕіtuаtіоn is nоt аѕ еffесtіvе, dеѕіrаblе, protective or rewarding as a dуnаmіс earned state оf health. Wе ѕhоuld аll be aware that ѕtаtіс hеаlth, thе dеfаult setting уоu get fоr just existing and dоіng nоthіng ѕресіаl tо enhance hеаlth, саn and muѕt bе rеіnfоrсеd аnd bооѕtеd.

Emрlоуіng a tеrm lіkе еаrnеd hеаlth might rеmіnd people that health саn bе much mоrе thаn nоn-іllnеѕѕ. The tеrm еаrnеd hеаlth can ѕіgnаl thе аvаіlаbіlіtу of a rісhеr lеvеl оf well being. It саn rеmіnd еvеrуоnе thаt hеаlth аt its bеѕt іѕ more than a static соndіtіоn. Hеаlth іѕ a dуnаmіс state; it gеtѕ bеttеr wіth еffоrt, wоrѕе if іgnоrеd.

Hi there, I’m Angela Brown and this is Ask a House Cleaner. This is a show where you get to ask a house

cleaning questionand I get to help you find an answer. Today’s question comes from a house cleaner who is terribly allergic to pets. And she says “Ang, how can I go clean a house?I am so allergic to pets that I can’t survive. Okay, so yes you can. But you have to manage it. And I know because I speak by experience. I too am allergic to pets. Cats and dogs. And when I get to people’s houses and they say “Oh, my dogs don’t shed. ”And I can look with my eyes and I can see their big balls of fur underneath their couch. I’m thinking “Yeah, about that. ”Because people will always tell you “Well my dog doesn’t give off allergies. ”Yeah, they do. Yeah, they do.

I can tell because my eyes water and my nose itches and I just feel miserable and blah. So how do you do that when you clean houses?Well, it’s maintenance period. So, the very first thing that you have to realize isthat what you breathe filters through your body. So, you have to keep your own filters very clean so that when that stuff comes in you have the antibodies that you can fight that off with.

Because I’ve been cleaning houses for 25 years and I’m still allergic to petsand I never figured out the exact ratio but I would say about 85% of my customers had pets. And I would go bid homes and they have no pets. And I’m like “YES! No Pets!”And then as soon as they sign up for service, I go back next week and they’re like“Hey, we got four dogs. ”I’m like “great… awesome. ”Okay, so in order for you to deal with that, I have a simple solution. The simple solution it’s not free, but it’s next to free. Take a bottle of water. And it doesn’t…I just use the 16-ounce bottle. I drink it down to about right here. Okay, so there’s about 4 ounces missing out of the bottle. Then I take some apple cider vinegar. And this is the apple cider vinegar with the mother. You’ll be able to tell because there’s usually a little bit of muck at the bottom. And I don’t know what the mother is other than it supposed to be good for you. So, get the apple cider vinegar with the mother. This just happens to be Hines unfiltered. But there are other brands on the market but its apple cider vinegar with the mother that’s what you want to make sure of.

The next thing is you can use raw lemons or you can just buy lemon juice. And I use lemon juice just from the bottle it’s just real lemon it’s a hundred percent lemon juice. And I fill this section about up to here, with about two ounces. I fill about two ounces with the apple cider vinegar, and I fill about two ounces with the lemon juice. And the rest of it is just water and I just shake it up and it is a nasty, nasty, nasty drink. But I drink it every day.

And what happens is this; it clears out the sinuses. It clears out all the mucus that is in your head that catches all that dog hair, and fur,and pet dander, and dust and all the stuff that you are subjected to when you go insideto clean a house. Now like I said before. When you are the owner of the company and you are the one that’s out cleaning everyday, you are the biggest asset of your business. And so, if you show up at a customer’s house. And your eyes are bloodshot and you just look exhausted. And it’s not because you’re tired it’s because you have allergies. And you’re bringing in all this weird stuff that’s in your head you don’t look healthy.

Hey, so what happens is you come into a customer’s house and you’re supposed to be bringing healthfu land helpful solutions, right? You come in you’re going to make their life betterand you come in looking like you just had a hangover or something. So, that’s not good at all. And it’s not good for you to be sneezing and itching and whatever because here’s the catch. Even though you’re wearing latex gloves or nitrile gloves or whatever kind of gloves you wear, even though you’re wearing gloves. To go out to this while you’re cleaning and to touch your eyes, now you’re transferring the nitrile or the latex and the chemicals that you’ve been touching, to your eyes. If you have to scratch your nose or your face you’re putting all those chemicals up there,and it’s unrealistic to take your gloves off every time to do that, put your gloves backon, it’s just unrealistic and it wastes time.

So, the thing is you don’t get to do that while you’re house cleaning. You don’t get to like to scratch your face. Whatever. You don’t get to do that. And so, by drinking this little cocktail, and it’s not FDA-approved or anything it’sjust something that I came up with, that has been working for me for years. But it prevents sickness. It keeps all the germs at bay. I don’t know why, I can’t explain it, I’m not a scientist. I’m not a licensed certified anything that can give you health advice. I’m not.

What I have found for me in house cleaning this is the Grand Poohbah. This is the drink that does the trick. And it keeps me from getting sick so that I’m not calling in sick canceling on my customers,because “Hey I feel great. Right?And we know that time is money. And so when I cancel because I’m sick I lose a whole week’s worth of work or however longit takes me to get well. So those are my suggestions and keep me posted.

Instructions First, mix the vinegar, salt, and baking soda and put them in a spray bottle. Next, add the warm water and shake the bottle.

Spray the mixture on your pets’ fur, especially their ears, legs, and neck. You can also comb through their fur to get rid of the bugs that the spray didn’t take care of. Brushing your cat and dog is also good for preventing fleas and ticks. But, before you use this recipe, perform an allergy test to make sure you won’t be hurting your pet. How to Get Rid of Ants Fast Naturally

Although many consider them to be inconvenient visitors, ants play an important role in nature. That’s why instead of killing them, we should think about ways to keep them away from ourhouse or garden. Ants normally like sweet things, and that doesn’t just mean sugar. Certain plants and flowers also attract these tiny bugs. Anyone who has a garden or lives near a green area knows how hard it is to keep them away. In today’s video we are going to share some of the best natural, home remedies to keep ants far, far away.

Cloves, cinnamon and bay leave.

All three of these ingredients have one thingin common: they all have a strong scent that can scare ants away. What you need to do is put cloves, cinnamon, or bay leaves in little bags made of pantyhose. Scatter these little bags around your house, in the places where you normally see ants. In order for this remedy to be effective, try to trade out the little bags every two weeks.

Essential oils

Just like cloves are great at scaring ants away due to their strong odor, its essential oil does the same thing. It’s recommended that you spray some of this oil or some peppermint oil on the surfaces where ants normally walk, such as close to walls, doors, and windows. Repeat this process every 3 to 4 days in order to ensure the effectiveness of the smell.

Lavender and camphor

If you have a problem with ants in your closets and drawers, you can turn to lavender or camphor leaves. All you have to do is put them in the desired locations. That way, their strong odor will keep the ants away.

Lemon, orange, or cucumber peel

Ants don’t like the smell of these peels,and will run away from them both inside the house or in the garden. All you have to do is scatter the peel in the most affected areas of your garden orhouse. Trade out the peel once a week because they lose their aroma over time.

Vinegar and detergent

A very practical way to protect your house is by spraying this mixture all over: Mix one half of a cup of water with two spoons of biodegradable detergent and two spoons of white vinegar. The detergent and vinegar will keep ants away. Spray it on all clean surfaces where you find ants.

Nutrition Tips : How Does Our Body Use Iron?

I’m going to talk a little bit about how our body uses iron.  Iron is a mineral that our body actually uses to make hemoglobin.  It’s also use to make myoglobin.  And myoglobin is found in muscles, hemoglobin is found in the blood.  What hemoglobin actually does,it’s actually responsible for transporting oxygen throughout our body.  So that’s the biggest use of iron, is actually allowing us to be able to have oxygen, to be able to breath and actually function, primary, primary source of iron.  Now the other sources of iron or the uses of iron actually help our bodies fight infection.  So iron is very important for our overall health in the sense that we need it for oxygen just to live, but then we also need it to help our body fight infections, so we need it to help us stay healthy.  Now the sources of iron, you remember seeing Popeye as a kid, always having spinach, spinach is a very good source of iron.

So that’s something that you definitely want to include.  All types of meat, it doesn’t matter whether its poultry, seafood or red meat or pork, they all have iron in them as well.  Some other vegetable include iron, pretty much all of your leafy greens are going to have some amount of iron and a lot of fortified foods, for example breakfast cereals will have quite a bit or iron in them.  However, for the breakfast cereals and for some of the plant sources, you really need to also include a good source of vitamin c.

That combination of vitamin c and iron actually helps your body absorb the iron more effectively. So, if you’re going to have your spinach, make sure that you drink some orange juice with it or have some type of citrus or bell pepper with that particular combination so that you are getting that vitamin c for your body to absorb your iron.  So just remember your body uses iron for both oxygen and to fight infection.

Allergies and Asthma: Symptoms, Causes, and Treatment Options

I had a history of allergies myself, it runs in my family, so I actually chose a specialty to help me with my own nose. The most common allergens in the spring are the trees. And the tree pollens in the Wasatch Front are birch tree, elm tree, oak tree, maple,everyone brought there favorite tree to the valley. So, instead of just the desert, now we have a blooming allergy fest.   Well, you have the typical symptoms of itchy,runny, sneezy, and blocked breathing.

Those are the common ones,but there’s some uncommon allergies that can make you quite tired or it can make you a little grumpy. Or perhaps it makes you snore. Or perhaps it makes you have asthma in the lower airways. So, allergies can manifest as nasal,itchy eyes, asthma in the bronchial tubes. You can even get it in your skin as eczema.

So, there’s several ways that allergies can show up. Allergic asthma typically shows up as an evening symptom. A nighttime cough,perhaps in a child who’s not otherwise sick, may be one of the first signs of asthma. Wheezing is the tip off that you may have asthma. It often runs in families again and it can be related to an exposure like say a cat. Whenever the person is around a cat,and they start having swelling up of their eyes,their nose runs,and they start wheezing that would be allergies of the nose and of the lower respiratory tract.

One is to avoid the exposure if it’s possible. The second is medications and the third would be allergy desensitization or allergy shots. And that’s what I actually went through,as I was treating myself originally,I would try to avoid the grasses and the weeds by staying indoors but that was no fun because I wasn’t going outside and enjoying the outdoors.

The next step of treatment would be medications. There’s a lot of good medications that are now available over the counter. You’ve heard of Allegra, Claritin, Zyrtec,and to varying degrees they are somewhat successful. But, they’re not always successful. Some patients, like myself, needed something beyond just the medications. The next step if you can’t avoid it, and the medications aren’t enough, is to actually get allergy shots and to become desensitized to the allergens that you’re specifically allergic to.

The shots begin weekly in the first year and then they advance to every other week in the second and third and fourth years. I try to push my patients to five years total but not everyone wants to do shots that long. You can go off the shots and still have allergy free days for many years to come. Yes, I began at age five. In the future,there will be approved an allergy tablet, it’s actually in the research stages right now, but I expect the FDA will be approving this towards the end of the year.

This will be much easier for children because they don’t have to worry about the needles, the pain of getting a shot,and you can do this at home yourself. I can’t think of any insurance company who withholds coverage for allergy treatments. As I said,you wanna try lesser things first like medications. I’m kind of the last hope,or allergists like myself,want to treat these patients usually with something a little more than just over the counter medications.

One of the important messages I wanna get out is that you can prevent allergies from going on to complications like asthma if you treat the allergies early on and prevent this allergic march, we call it,then you can prevent the complications of asthma and also chronic sinusitis.

Treating Kidney Disease and Damage

Hi, I’m doctor Harry Senekjian. I’m a nephrologist, meaning I’m a kidney doctor. I’ve been affiliated with Ogden Regional Medical Center and St.  Benedict’s Hospital for over 30 years.

The most common type of kidney disease that we take care ofis kidney failure. The majority of those patients have diabetes. If you look at a population of patients with kidney failure about 50% of them are due to diabetes and another 20 or 30 percent are due to high blood pressure. So, 70 or 80 percent of patients with chronic kidney disease have their kidney damage due to diabetes or high blood pressure or both. There are some hereditary causes and a few other miscellaneous causes.

The majority of patients with chronic kidney disease have no symptoms until it’s pretty late in the course. Kidney disease is picked up, frequently, on routine testing where the physician does blood or urine tests and can document that they have kidney damage. Then, the patients undergo a workup to determine what kind of kidney disease they have and what kind of treatment to give them.

The symptoms of kidney failure, usually occur pretty late in the course and patients can be pretty sick. Those are the patients we put on the dialysis machine to try and keep them going and improve their symptoms. The treatment of kidney stones, acutely, is a urologic problem.The urologist will take care of kidney stonese ither with lithotripsy or retrieving them surgically. Where we come in is treatment to prevent production of stones. There are a number of different metabolic problems that cause kidney stones.

We, in general, will see the patients for attempts at preventing more kidney stone formation. In terms of the care that patients receive, here,for their kidney disease,the staff is well trained. The technology is available to take care of their kidney problems. We have dialysis available, here, in the hospital,both in the regular floors and in the ICU. The patients who come here to get their kidney disease taken care of are in good hands with experienced, competent staff and I wouldn’t hesitate to come here myself for such treatment.

What is the Care Assure Program?

My name is Edie Burt. I’m a registered nurse at Ogden Regional Hospital. Care Assure is our hospital’s commitment to excellence in followup care. Some of the benefits to our Care Assure program for patients are understanding their discharge instructions, reviewing their medications,and if they have questions on their medications, maybe what the medicine does for them and side effects. We go over those, and not only new prescriptions. We can go over old prescriptions, changes in prescriptions, and, again, we make follow up appointments for patients. We even take it a step further than that.

What we do is once we make the appointment for the patient or the patient can make their own appointment,our team calls the office to make sure the patient has attended the appointment. If they have not attended the appointment, the patient comes back to me and I talk to that patient,and we talk about what happened.

Maybe they forgot the appointment and then if they’d like me to make another appointment for them. Not all discharged patients receive the Care Assure followup call. There are four criterias, valve, reduced EF, arrhythmias, and prevention. We want our patients to stay healthy and not be readmitted to the hospital and to make sure that they’re following up with their primary care physicians or cardiologist.

Common Back Pain Questions

I’m Dr.  David Stevens. I’m a spine surgeon with Mountain Orthopedics. I practice at Lakeview Hospital in Davis County.

So as a spine surgeon, I get asked all the time about back and neck pain. It’s really common and most of the time,back and neck pain is pretty benign. Almost everybody gets it at some point in their life. In fact, some studies have shown about 85 percent of people get back pain at some point that’s severe enough to wanna talk to a doctor about it.

But most of the time, it’s self-limiting. It’s gonna last a few weeks, maybe a few months. It’s gonna get better. Little anti-inflammatories like Aleve, ibuprofen,stuff you can get over the counter generally helpful. Who needs to come see a spine surgeon? Those people that have, if it’s your neck and it has pain down your shoulder, arm, or hand,those are people we can really help. I love to see those patients. That’s something I can really get in and get them help whether it’s surgical or not.

Same with back stuff, if you’ve got back problems,but really the pain that goes into your hip, thigh, leg, foot, with some weakness, that’s somebody I can really help. If it’s pure neck pain or pure back pain,good place to start’s primary care. Or just give it some time. But definitely if you have the shoulder, arm,and hands symptoms for neck stuff, or if you’ve got hip, thigh, leg symptoms, if it’s back problems, those are people just call the office, we can get you in, see if you have something that needs some help or if it’s something that might just get better on it’s own,we can get you on the right track.

So I get asked probably 50 times a day from patients, what is degenerative disc disease? I’ve been told I have it, I’m really worried about it. Is this something that’s gonna cause damage to my nerves down the road? Well the reality is degenerative disc disease is the normal aging process of the spine. So most people in their 20’s already have some degenerative discs, the discs that are degenerative just mean that they’re kind of wearing out or starting to wear out.

By the time we’re in our 40’s, 50’s, 60’s,almost all of us have it. In fact, it’s probaby 100 percent in asymptomatic,healthy people with no pain whatsoever by the time you’re 60. I do a lot of surgeries here at Lakeview Hospital, they’ve got a great crew, they’ve got good staff in the OR, very helpful and the nurses on the floor take excellent care of my patients when they have to stay overnight. Really, the gamut of spine surgeries available,I would say we’re on par with any major center,like the U or any other big center. We can do all the things they do and we do it very well.

Reducing Allergies at Home : Reducing Allergies: Dust Mites

Many people that have allergies have an allergy to dust mites. Dust mites live all over your home.  They live in your carpet, they live in your bedding, they live in your mattress,they live in your pillows.  So you pretty much can find them all over the place. And not only are there dust mites, there’s also their fickle matter and when they die, the dead dust mites are there as well.

Sounds disgusting but here are some ways that you can help dust mite proof your home, especially the bedroom where you spend a lot of your time. One thing that I make sure I do every week is to wash my bedding in our bedrooms.

You would be amazed at how many dust mites can accumulate over the course of a week. So what I do is take the bedding off including the top coverlet or cover that you have, and I wash it in hot water, once a week, and I also make sure that I put some vinegar in the rinse cycle because like I said before, it takes the residue of the detergent out, and it softens your clothes.

It acts as a fabric softener as well. You wouldn’t think about it, and many people have had the same pillow for years and years, but it’s very important to make sure that you wash your pillows each week. I know that I had a pillow for the longest time and didn’t even think about washing it, and my allergies are usually really bad by the time I woke up in the morning. I discovered that there’s a possibility that it’s from my pillow. Washing your pillow in hot water makes a really big difference. They now have pillows that are made that completely detract dust mites.

Dust mites are not even able to penetrate the pillow for those people that are extremely allergic to dust mites. So throw this in once a week,make sure that you wash it in hot water and dust mites would be gone.

Reducing Allergies at Home : Reducing Allergies: Dust Mites in Curtains

Continuing the discussion about dust mites, it’s very important when a child’s in a bedroom or if you have a bedroom that you spend a lot of time in, not to have a lot of drapery or a lot of material hanging around. For example, we do not have any kind of curtains on my daughter’s windows because she does have severe environmental allergies.  Instead, we have blinds that we use that offer the same protection as curtains would.

The curtains tend to have a lot of dust mites and they collect dust, and you wouldn’t even think about washing your curtains. Some people have the same curtains hanging up for years and have never washed them. But if you do take a closer look, you find that dust has developed on the outside of them. If you have curtains you can steam clean them or throw them in the washing machine to get rid of those dust mites.

It’s very easy to clean blinds. Just take your microfiber cloth to wipe them off to get the dust that’s accumulated on them. They have these really great tools that I do not recommend to clean blinds. It’s a stick, it’s really fluffy and people just go like this to clean in-between the blinds but what happens is,it ends up blowing those dust mites all over the place and the dust is flying through the air, when in fact you want to make sure it’s sticking to something so it gets out of the room.

Asthma Triggers

Dr. Steve Rubinstein from the Palo Alto Medical Foundation discusses asthma triggers.

Asthma is a condition in which the respiratory system, particularly the lungs, becomes over reactive to the outside world.  There’s really no cure for asthma since asthma is an exaggeration of what the lungs are supposed to do. Everyone, when they breathe in air that’s too cold or two smoggy or infected; everybody’s lungs have a tendency to overreact to the outside world.  It’s just that some people’s lungs react too much.

Your doctor can talk to you about other causes for asthma and treatment options for asthma, but what I really want to talk about is what can trigger asthma. Since there’s really no cause for asthma, what is critical is that the multiple triggers for asthma are minimized. The number one trigger for asthma is colds or infections. The number one trigger that will put people in the hospital or make them go to the emergency room or make them end up on cortisone for asthma is getting a bad cold. So, there are several issues with colds.

Number one is don’t get sick.

Hand washing is important. Any child that’s in school; it’s very important that they wash their hands before they eat and everyone needs to wash their hands a lot so they don’t get sick.  Once a cold starts however, asthma can take off aggressively.  So, it’s very important that medicines are started at the first sign of a cold if people have a history of asthma.

Even before the asthma symptoms start, we want to start asthma medicines as soon as possible.  Sometimes that will be a medicine like abuterol that will give immediate relief, but other medicines we use are inhaled cortisone sprays such as Advair or Qvar or Flovent or Pulmicort; these are medicines that won’t work immediately but if they’re started before the asthma starts, can work very effectively at limiting or slowing down how long an asthma attack can occur.

Anybody with asthma needs flu shots in the fall at any age. And adults who have asthma will frequently be recommended getting a pneumovax or a pneumonia shot. Second trigger for asthma is exercise. When one exercises, the nose which usually filters the air, doesn’t have time to filter the air and that unfiltered air gets down to the lungs and triggers the lungs to tighten up. On the other hand, the most important thing that people can do who have asthma is to be able to exercise. If, at any point, someone who has asthma cannot exercise on an ongoing basis, it is critical that they talk to their doctor about being able to exercise appropriately.

Now, we’re not talking about when you have an acute asthma flare, you don’t want to exercise. But if you find well, jeez, I can’t exercise because my asthma bothers me, you need a tune up and you need to do something preventative. If you do indeed have exercise induced asthma, using this medicine called albuterol is a very safe intervention and medicine to use prior to exercising. Even if you exercise and have symptoms, if you’ve pre-dosed, it would be okay to take the albuterol during or after exercise. If that does not help, then you need to consult your doctor.  Frequently, warming up before exercise, doing a slow lap of swimming or running or jogging, can really make a difference in minimizing exercise induced symptoms.

Third trigger for asthma is stress.

There’s a direct connection between the brain and the lungs. And it’s very important that people who have asthma have minimal amount of stress in their life, and guess what, the best way to minimize stress is to be able to exercise appropriately. Very commonly, stress will mask as asthma. And in order to determine whether people are having trouble breathing because of stress or having an anxiety attack versus asthma, is there’s a meter called the peak flow meter, and that can help distinguish between what is truly asthma and what is a panic attack.  In addition, it’s very important that if you’re taking care of an asthmatic or an asthmatic child that you don’t make them more anxious. You need to know what to do if, in the course of an asthma attack, the medicines that you’ve been recommended don’t work. And what we recommend for that is a backup asthma plan.

Everybody who has asthma needs this backup plan in which you know what to do if the inhaler or the nebulizer does not work. And most of the time in that bad situation we will recommend taking albuterol, either by inhaler or nebulizer, up to every 15 to 20 minutes, three times. If that does not work then you either need to go to an emergency room or urgent care or call your doctor right away.

It’s very important that we try and keep people out of the emergency room or urgent care if possible because the stress or anxiety of being in the emergency room for several hours can actually aggravate the attack.  On the other hand, obviously, if you can’t breathe, you have to go to the emergency room if this backup plan does not work.

Fourth trigger for asthma is what we call irritations in the air.

Anything you see or smell in the air that nose and lungs don’t want — chemicals, cleaning fluids, smoke — need to be avoided, particularly if there’s any active asthma happening.  So, it’ just takes common sense that if you’re cleaning the shower or you go to a place where there’s a fireplace smoke, that those areas are avoided as much as possible.

The fifth trigger for asthma is what we call allergies.

An allergy is when your body’s immune overreacts to biologic things in the air such as pollen or dust or mold or animals. Most people ignore these things, but when you have an allergy, your immune system, which lines your nose and lungs, will over react to these allergens and as a result, asthma can be flared. I’m not going to talk specifically about what you can do with allergies, but you can certainly talk to your doctor about that. One thing I will mention however is that most allergens will accumulate in bedding.

And anybody who has any sort of asthma needs to make sure that the pillows aren’t too old, comforters are being washed regularly and that faces aren’t going into old couch pillows.  It’s also recommended for most people who have asthma to get special allergy covers at least for the pillows.  If needed, and you have ongoing asthma, you may want to come see me as an allergist because we can do allergy testing to find out exactly what you’re allergic to.

The final trigger for asthma is what we call acid reflux.

Stomach acid belongs in the stomach and if it comes up and hits your esophagus, you’ll get what we call heart burn which really isn’t heartburn, it’s esophagus burn.  But sometimes there is no heart burn, the stomach acid actually goes into your throat and you inhale it into your lungs and that can aggravate asthma.  If you have asthma that worsens after eating or especially when you lie down at night, acid reflux may be playing a role in all this.

So, it’s very important that you may bring this up to your doctor because there are very safe medicines for this acid reflux as well.

One final note is that the medicines we use for asthma are very, very safe.  Many of these medicines have cortisone in them, but they come in spray form.  These cortisones prays work like a shield of protection to protect your lungs from reacting to pollens or dust or smoke or stomach acid or even infections.  And these medicines don’t do anything immediately, but they are the long-term treatment of choice for asthma should environmental measures and infection control measures and other preventative interventions fail.
